QuickStick Q&A: St. Lawrence’s Harrison Koch

We continue our series of QuickStick Q&A’s with DIII power St. Lawrence University and sophomore attackman, Harrison Koch. The Wilton, CT and PrimeTime product is looking to see meaningful minutes this spring after making appearances in eight games, scoring two goals and three assists.

___
Replacing All-American Conor Healy on attack will be no easy task. Who are some names to keep an eye out for this spring offensively?
Conor was a huge part of our team’s offense and bailed us out of a lot of close games. He was truly a beast. Replacing him will be tough but we have a ton of returners who will make significant contributions. Look out for Junior Transfer Connor Caffery (Ohio Wesleyan University) who was an All-American last year and can help out team offensively.
___
Favorite bus movie(s)?
Holes is a team favorite.
___
What game is everyone most looking forward to this season?
RIT,  after losing in OT last year in the Liberty League Championship Game, we’re looking for redemption.
___
Make the case for why your team could go deep in the postseason (conference or national).
We graduated 18 seniors so we lost a ton of leadership and big game experience. However we return some key starters from last years team and the competition for starting spots has been heated. We’re going to be overlooked because we graduated so much, but we still have the grit that was instilled in the previous years.
___
Toughest matchup you’ve ever faced? (can be team matchup, or personal in college or HS?
Caleb Kane, an All- American defenseman from last year’s team. Matched up against him everyday in practice. My arms were tattooed blue by the end of the year.
___
Favorite lacrosse memory?
Beating Yorktown (NY) my Senior Year at Wilton for the Turnbull Cup, a game that’s been played since 1969.
___

___

Playing pick up hockey on the frozen rinks of the North Country.
___
If you had one last meal to eat, what would it be?
A Power Bowl from Dana Dinning Center.
___
Who was your favorite athlete when you were a kid?
Yankees legend and future hall of famer, Alfonso Soriano. Nowadays I’m a sucker for NY Islander John Tavares.
